It was great to visit a new site under construction in North London. The 4 houses and penthouse being built are to be ‘green’, using all renewable materials and eco-friendly heating systems. The design brief is to create modern, efficient houses using traditional materials.
The project consists of internal steel partitions (drawing below) that will break up the living spaces; kitchens from living rooms; stair ways from hallways. In the photo above Tom is discussing the installation of our Original Steel heritage effect balustrades for the houses.
The beauty of original steel windows and doors is that they can be used in many applications from internal partitions and doors to external windows for extensions and commercial buildings. Internally, they give a sense of extended space and allow light to flood into properties. The glazing bars also add a decorative element that serve to give an interior a luxurious feel at a relatively affordable cost.
For external applications, not only do original steel windows and doors look great, they are super weather resistant and can last for more than 50 years. Being hot dipped galvanised and powder coated to any finish (metal finishes included) your steel windows will last a life time and more.
